Dear Tina Fey

Dear Tina Fey,

Okay, I first want to tell you that we have really, really been enjoying season two of 30 Rock so far. Funny, funny stuff and if I tried to quote back everything we have loved then we would be here for a while. But our favorite episode so far is probably “Cougars” because Frank was gay for Jamie. Gay for Jamie! I hope this comes up again, even briefly, because we totally love Gay-For-Jamie-Frank.

But that’s not why I am writing to you tonight. I am writing because I have a question. It might be a litle uncomfortable but I am going to be direct. Even if it is a little awkward. Tina Fey, where is Rachel Dratch? We are seven episodes into season two and we haven’t seen her at all, not one cameo, not even one glimpse in a crowd scene. Just what is up with that? No need for the cat wrangler? The blue dude? Elizabeth Taylor? Barbara F’n Walters? Come on, Tina Fey!

But I guess what I am most worried about is that you and Rachel Dratch have had some sort of fight or disagreement or falling out, Tina Fey. Maybe she doesn’t want to be on the show anymore, and if that is the case, he, that’s cool. But I know in the original concept of the show, she played the character of Jenna, and then was replaced by Jane Krakowski. That must of have been awkward, Tina Fey, kind of like this letter is a little awkward for me to write. But then she got to play some funny characters over the course of season one, so maybe that made things a little better. Or maybe she thought she deserved more and moved on. I hope this didn’t put a strain on your friendship, Tina Fey. I have always imagined that you and she were friends, especially since you guys had that show Dratch & Fey that apparently was a big hit. (I never had the pleasure of seeing one.) I guess that is the risk you run when you work with friends (or become friends with the folks you work with.) And for the record, we would like to be friends with you either at work or not at work, and we totally don’t mean that in a dirty way.

I guess it’s none of my business, Tina Fey. I guess I just wanted to say that I miss Rachel Dratch (and while we are talking here, how about some more Pete?) and that I hope everything is okay. Let me know if there is anything we can do.

Stay righteous, Tina Fey.

Lori
